🚫 ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPTED

  • Review reports — papers that are compilations of literature data without original research
  • Literature reviews — systematic or narrative reviews without original research
  • Presentations of drugs and medical devices — papers of advertising or commercial nature
  • Student case histories — descriptions of clinical cases without scientific analysis and generalization
  • Papers with borrowed illustrations — use of tables, figures, diagrams from other sources without citing the original source or creating one's own
  • Papers without original data — theoretical reasoning without experimental or clinical confirmation
  • Abstracts not conforming to scientific writing style — papers with journalistic, artistic, or colloquial style

Requirements for Originality and Ethics

Originality:

  • Minimum originality level — 85% according to the "Antiplagiat" system
  • All borrowings must be formatted as citations with source references
  • Copying text from websites, Wikipedia, or other scientific papers is strictly prohibited
  • Use of others' illustrative materials (tables, figures, graphs, diagrams) without explicit citation of the original source is strictly prohibited
  • All graphic materials must be created by the authors or reproduced with permission from the copyright holder

Reference List Formatting (optional):

  • A reference list is not mandatory for abstracts
  • If included — format according to AMA style (American Medical Association)
  • In-text citations — Arabic numerals in superscript or in square brackets

Ethical Standards:

  • For clinical studies — ethics committee approval is mandatory
  • Informed consent from all research participants
  • Compliance with personal data confidentiality

Compliance with Legal Norms:

  • Papers that violate ethical standards, moral principles, or current legislation of the Russian Federation will not be considered
  • Papers containing data obtained in violation of personal data protection laws, bioethics, or human rights
  • Research conducted without necessary permits and approvals from authorized bodies

Special Conditions for Certain Categories of Papers:

  • Papers completed in defense and security institutions require prior approval from the management of the relevant organization regarding the possibility of open publication
  • Research concerning special medical training must contain only information of an open nature
  • Authors bear full responsibility for compliance of submitted materials with the secrecy requirements of their organization

📊 Requirements for Research Design and Statistics

Research Design:

  • Clearly indicate the type of study (prospective/retrospective, cross-sectional/longitudinal, observational/experimental)
  • For clinical studies — describe patient inclusion and exclusion criteria
  • Justify the choice of sample size (for quantitative studies)
  • Indicate the observation or data collection period

Statistical Data Processing:

  • Be sure to indicate the statistical methods and software used
  • For quantitative data, provide measures of central tendency and dispersion (M±SD, Me [Q1; Q3])
  • Indicate the significance level (usually p<0.05) and specific p-values
  • For group comparisons — justify the choice of parametric or non-parametric test
  • When using correlation analysis — indicate the correlation coefficient and its significance
  • For qualitative data, provide absolute numbers and percentages

Important: Lack of statistical analysis in papers with quantitative data or use of incorrect methods may be grounds for rejection.

✍️ Language Standards

The language of a scientific paper must be precise, clear, and grammatically correct. Remember the noble traditions of scientific style.

Style Recommendations:

  • Use impersonal and indefinite-personal constructions
  • Avoid first-person pronouns
  • Use precise, unambiguous terms instead of colloquial expressions
  • Follow logical sequence of presentation
  • Maintain consistency of terminology throughout the paper

What to Avoid:

  • Journalistic clichés and bureaucratisms
  • Colloquial and vernacular expressions
  • Excessive emotionality and evaluative judgments
  • Complex syntactic constructions that impede understanding
  • Unmotivated borrowings when equivalents exist
  • Tautology and pleonasms

Spelling and Punctuation:

  • Strictly follow the rules of spelling and punctuation
  • Use correct typographic marks: em dash (—), hyphen (-), angle quotation marks («»)
  • Properly format numbers and units of measurement (space between number and unit: 5 ml, 37 °C)
  • Check your paper for typos and grammatical errors

Tip: Ask a colleague or your scientific supervisor to read your paper before submission — a fresh perspective often catches errors that the author misses.

🤖 Use of Generative Neural Networks (AI)

The Conference Organizing Committee recognizes that modern artificial intelligence tools can be useful in scientific work when applied correctly and ethically.

✓ ACCEPTABLE use of AI:

  • Grammar and spelling checking
  • Assistance with text and table formatting
  • Terminology translation and verification of formulation accuracy
  • Assistance in structuring already written material
  • Generating ideas for further independent analysis
  • Assistance in writing program code for statistical analysis

✗ UNACCEPTABLE use of AI:

  • Generating the main content of the paper (introduction, results, conclusions)
  • Creating or fabricating scientific data and results
  • Writing entire sections of the paper without subsequent critical revision
  • Using AI-generated text without disclosing this fact
  • Generating illustrations, graphs, or tables based on non-existent data

Principle of Responsibility: Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy and originality of presented data regardless of the tools used. AI is an auxiliary tool, not a replacement for scientific thinking.

📋 Additional Recommendations for Authors

Working with Data:

  • Keep all primary research data — it may be requested during verification
  • Document statistical processing methods indicating the software used
  • Ensure reproducibility of results — describe the methodology in sufficient detail

Scientific Style and Language:

  • Use impersonal constructions
  • Avoid excessive emotionality and journalistic expressions
  • Use generally accepted scientific terms and abbreviations
  • Provide the full form when first mentioning an abbreviation

Formatting of Graphic Materials:

  • All tables and figures must have numbering and captions
  • Graphs should be made in a uniform style with readable axis labels
  • Avoid overloading graphs — it is better to divide into several simpler ones
  • Photos must be of high quality with sufficient resolution

Before Submission, Check:

  • ☑ Compliance with scientific paper structure (all sections present)
  • ☑ Correct bibliography formatting according to AMA
  • ☑ References to all tables and figures in the text
  • ☑ Absence of typos and grammatical errors
  • ☑ Compliance with technical requirements (font, margins, length)
  • ☑ Accuracy of contact information for all authors

💡 Tips from a Scientific Supervisor

For Students and Beginning Researchers:

  • Start preparing your abstract in advance — at least 2-3 weeks before the deadline
  • Be sure to show the draft to your scientific supervisor for discussion
  • Study examples of good scientific abstracts in your field
  • Don't hesitate to ask questions to the organizing committee — we are here to help

Typical Mistakes to Avoid:

  • ⚠ Too general aim formulation ("to study the problem" instead of a specific aim)
  • ⚠ Conclusions do not correspond to the stated aim
  • ⚠ Absence of quantitative data in the "Results" section
  • ⚠ Unnecessarily complex language where simpler expression is possible
  • ⚠ Exceeding the length limit (remember the 2-4 page limit)

⚠️ IMPORTANT REMINDER

Papers that do not meet the specified requirements will be rejected at the preliminary moderation stage WITHOUT THE RIGHT TO RESUBMIT in the current year.

Carefully check that your paper meets all requirements before submitting through the Lomonosov MSU system.
